We are surrounded by the beautiful natural Scottish Borders landscape. Which also means wildlife.
You may see the voles and stoats, or 'Boo' the badger. Or spot the Red Squirrel in the garden.
Deer sometimes make an appearance in the garden. Sometimes you'll see them with their young in the long grass in the valley.
You may hear the hooting of our male tawny owl and the screeching of the female tawny owl feeding on voles and toads.
You will see many birds, including House Martins who return every Spring and nest under the roof at Singdean.
Swallows have adopted Alpnhaus as their home.
Our resident heron 'Henry' eats as many fish and frogs as he can.
Buzzards fly high above and call to each other.
The Sparrow Hawk swoops in if the house martins don't see it away.
Or maybe you'll spot an Eagle if you’re really lucky.
